HonorHealth Cancer Care has become a leader in caring for our family and friends fighting the disease that threatens their lives. In fact, approximately 45 percent of all patients receiving cancer treatment in Maricopa County get some or all of their care at HonorHealth.

On the campus of HonorHealth Scottsdale Shea Medical Center, the Virginia G. Piper Cancer Center was the first comprehensive cancer center in metro Phoenix to offer diagnosis, treatment, clinical trials and support services all under one roof. While the program has grown to provide convenient care in locations across the Valley, the Piper Center continues to serve as the flagship location for our exceptional program of care.

Here, patients have access to a powerful combination of leading-edge clinical trials, top physicians, advanced technology and caring, compassionate professionals — all in a calming, supportive environment.

But we need your help. Demand for quality cancer care in the Valley is growing proportionately with the staggering increase in population we’ve seen in recent years.

To keep pace with the ongoing need, and through the generosity of donors like you, HonorHealth has launched an ambulatory (outpatient) oncology expansion as well as a pharmacy upgrade at the Shea Medical Center in 2024-25. Plans include:

• Making changes to the ambulatory oncology pharmacy as part of a recent standards update by the Arizona State Board of Pharmacy
• Expanding the capacity of our ambulatory pharmacy to meet growing volume demand from Clinical Research, Cellular Therapy, Gynecologic Oncology and the forthcoming expansion of ambulatory Medical Oncology
• Consolidating two current ambulatory oncology clinics located on the 2nd and 4th floors and expanding overall capacity. The new combined space would span 14,559 square feet and accommodate:
  
  • 5 medical oncologists and two nurse practitioners
  • 19 exam rooms, one consult room, seven private offices and two shared offices
  • 37 infusion bays and one private infusion room
  • Oncology support services

HonorHealth Cancer Care is growing to make sure every patient receives the compassionate support and customized treatment she needs for her breast or gynecologic cancer.

Your generous gift will enable Complete renovation of the Virginia G. Piper Cancer Center 2nd floor to consolidate gynecologic and breast oncology services, to include a dedicated, private infusion space and services to meet the unique needs of this population.

• Move current Shea Breast Surgery practice and create a dedicated Breast Medical Oncology area
• Move current Shea Gynecologic Oncology practice
• Build a dedicated infusion space for patients with breast and gynecologic cancers. Men with breast cancer could be given a choice to have their infusion in the specialized infusion space
• Create a virtual Breast Oncology Research program: a collaborative environment within the dedicated 2nd floor space in partnership with HonorHealth Research Institute
