You can help provide care, comfort and healing for HonorHealth patients with kidney disease.

The Dr. Savas Petrides Kidney Care Endowment supports renal patients by providing for needs that otherwise may not be available. This might include patient care supplies, highly trained personnel, software required to provide optimal care, specialized equipment or other related items or services.

Every gift makes a difference.

As a clinical leader at HonorHealth, Dr. Petrides was instrumental in the development and governance of Scottsdale Health Partners from 2010-2016 and helped facilitate the evolution of that company into Innovation Care Partners (ICP). ICP is the HonorHealth clinically integrated network and accountable care organization.

“He always looked for the gaps in care and he worked to help fill those gaps to make sure all of our patients got the care they needed,” said Dr. John Neil, Executive Vice President and Chief Physician Executive and Network Strategy Officer for HonorHealth.

A nephrologist by training, Dr. Petrides was a partner and Medical Director for network services at Arizona Kidney Disease and Hypertension Centers, where he worked with multiple clinical networks to develop high value clinical services and create a value-based payment system for nephrology care. Dr. Petrides held multiple medical directorships in dialysis and transplant medicine.

Dr. Jim Whitfill, HonorHealth’s Senior Vice President and Chief Transformation Officer described Dr. Petrides perfectly.

“He absolutely, to a ‘T’ put his patients first. His patients loved him, and his colleagues loved him for it. It’s something that was such a core part of his essence. And we keep hearing echoes and reminders of that to this day.”

One of those reminders is the new Dr. Savas Petrides Kidney Care Endowment, established by his loving family, Terry Switsky, wife and partner of 37 years, and his children Sarah and Alexander Petrides.
