Ellen and Howard Katz Family Patient Assistance Endowment

Your gift to support the Ellen and Howard Katz Family Patient Assistance Endowment provides a sustainable, reliable source of revenue to help HonorHealth’s most vulnerable patients—tomorrow and well beyond.

Many of these patients are:

  • Underinsured
  • Uninsured
  • Living at or below poverty level

Hospital care for these patients is just the beginning. To continue improving their health, they require a whole-person approach. Without assistance, they may not have the means to follow their physician’s orders for follow-up care. This places them at greater risk for declining health and even increases the likelihood they will be hospitalized again.

Easing the financial burdens of these patients in need so they can get better and live their healthiest lives, the Ellen and Howard Katz Family Patient Assistance Endowment pays for needs, such as:

  • Medical equipment
  • Medications
  • In-home services
  • Transportation to medical appointments
  • Grocery cards
  • Gas cards or bus vouchers

Patients are not given cash. Instead, HonorHealth pays for these services and items directly using earnings from the endowment.

HonorHealth has agreements with medical equipment companies, nursing homes, home health agencies and other partners, enabling us to garner the best prices and maximize patient assistance funds.

Every month, HonorHealth social workers, care managers, nurses and physicians identify individuals who need patient assistance funds. As requests for assistance continue to grow, so does the need for a reliable source of patient assistance funds.

With a gift to the Ellen and Howard Katz Family Patient Assistance Endowment, you’re addressing this need and transforming the lives of patients facing critical times during the decades ahead.
